The Construction Materials Price Index stood at 117.68 points in August 2024, down slightly by 0.08% from August 2023, the Statistical Service of Cyprus reported.
The largest decrease in prices among construction materials was recorded for metal products, where prices fell by 3.5%. On the contrary, the cost of electrical and mechanical equipment increased (+3.72%), as well as wood products, insulation materials, chemical products and plastics (+1.17%). The increase also affected mineral materials (+0.96%) and products made from them (+0.66%).
Compared to July 2024, the index showed a slight increase of 0.03%. For the first eight months of 2024, the index decreased by 1.28% compared to the same period in 2023.
