Mayor of Akamas Marinus Lambrou expressed concern over the significant delay in reopening the Akamas National Forest Park , which has been closed for two years. In his statement, Lambrou stressed that there is still no clear plan from government authorities to reopen the park.
He also noted the need to complete the road networks to ensure access to all areas of the municipality and drew attention to the importance of discussing compensation or compensatory measures for owners of land where construction is prohibited. In addition, the mayor addressed the issue of water supply for agricultural and livestock areas in the Inia area , where access to water remains a problem.
Lambrou said he discussed these issues with the leader of the Environmental Movement during his recent visit to the Akamas municipality . The mayor also plans to raise these issues with other political leaders who visit his area in the future.
He added that the newly formed Akamas Municipality is not experiencing any problems in its work, and all employees are motivated and ready to work actively.
