The Cyprus Property Developers Association (LBDA) celebrated its 40th anniversary this week. During this time, the company has become “a sought-after developer and an active representative of the construction sector.”
According to a statement the organization published on its website, during its existence, the association contributed more than 15 percent of Cyprus’ gross domestic product (GDP) and employed more than 35,000 people. In addition, LBDA believes that the activities of Cyprus developers have laid more than one stone in the fundamental development of the country’s economy.
The Cyprus Property Developers Association “today serves as a trusted social partner, using the expertise of its specialists to improve the performance of executive and legislative authorities and contribute to efforts to improve the sector.”
To celebrate the anniversary of the Association was the President of the company Yiannis Misirlis and the board of directors recently organized an event to which were invited: President Nikos Christodoulides , Finance Minister Makis Keravnos , Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos , as well as Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades . The event was also attended by the President of Oev Antonis Antonio, as well as representatives of employers’ organizations and prominent figures in economics and business.
At the event, President Nikos Christodoulides said that the construction sector, supported by the Cyprus Property Developers Association (LBDA), plays a vital role in attracting investment, promoting entrepreneurship and positioning Cyprus as an investment destination.
Delivering a solemn speech, the President emphasized the importance of construction reforms, work with obtaining licenses for the sector, as well as general, comprehensive support for the development of the association: “Simplification of the procedure for obtaining a license is another area of strategic development, which must be implemented through legislation,” the President noted.
