The real estate market slowed down

With a positive sign, but with a slight increase, real estate moved in April, ending the upward rally of the previous months of 2022.

According to the Department of Land and Geodetic Works, 938 sale documents were filed with provincial land offices in April 2022, up from 832 in April 2021, showing a 13% increase.

At the same time, real estate sales in the first quarter of the year increased by 40%, amounting to 3,947 from 2,817 in the corresponding period of 2021.

Marginal losses in the capital

Limassol also recorded a 13% increase, with 329 sales documents in April 2022 compared to 292 in April 2021. For the period from January to April 2022, property sales in Limassol were 1348 from 851 for the same period in 2021.

Nicosia recorded a marginal loss of 3%, with 222 sales in April compared to 229 in April last year, while for the first quarter of the year, sales documents in the capital increased marginally by 2% to 895 from 875 in the corresponding quarter of 2021 .

Increasing sales in all cities

Paphos has 184 property sales in April 2022, up from 130 in April 2021, a 42% increase. In the four-month period from January to April 2022, sales increased by 80%, jumping to 837 from 465 in the corresponding period last year.

Property sales in Larnaca increased by 16% with 157 properties sold in April this year compared to 135 in April last year. Sales documents for the first quarter of 2022 in Paphos increased by 49%, reaching 669 compared to 450 in the corresponding period of 2021.

Freehold Famagusta property sales remained unchanged at 46 in April 2022, while a 13% increase was recorded between January and April 2022, with the number of sale documents reaching 198 compared to 176 in the corresponding period last year.
