Makronisos Marina & Caramondani Group CEO Stavros Caramondanis speaks about this, emphasizing that in the real estate sector, special importance should be attached to creating even more investment incentives.
In an interview with In Business 2022 Forecasting-Towards Sustainable Growth, Mr. Caramontanis refers to Ayia Napa Marina’s goals for the new year, noting that 2022 is considered a landmark year. And that, he explains, as the Ayia Napa marina is expected to become the next hotspot in Cyprus with the official opening of the shopping area, which is scheduled for April.
“At the same time,” he emphasizes, “the gradual transfer of housing to their owners opens up a new era for us.”

How do you think the Cyprus economy and property market will develop in 2022?
Undoubtedly, the health crisis has prompted most companies around the world to adjust their strategic development plans and take a very cautious approach to their next business steps while reducing risk.Estimates, as well as forecasts, should be positive in terms of the course of the economy, while the real estate market is already showing a significant recovery in 2021.
What are your projections for the sector you work in in 2022? How do you assess how it will move in a positive, negative direction or how in 2021?
As I mentioned above, the estimates should be positive as the domestic real estate market is seeing a significant recovery compared to 2020 based on available data. With the lifting of restrictive measures and the opening of borders, the interest of potential investors has revived, who can now visit and see for themselves the property they are interested in. Significant development, especially when it comes to luxury properties such as Ayia Napa Marina.
At the same time, companies in the industry can now participate in important exhibitions and conferences with a physical presence, mainly abroad.
What are the most important trends and developments that can be expected in 2022 in relation to your industry?
With regard to the real estate sector, particular importance should be attached to creating even more investment incentives with a significant response. A number of incentives have already been announced to attract and land companies in Cyprus.
Undoubtedly, by 2022 it is necessary to intensify efforts to further stimulate investment interest to further support the real estate sector, the market and, accordingly, the domestic economy.
