According to data released by the Statistical Office of Cyprus on Wednesday, the number of unemployed people registered with the district labor offices on the last day of April 2022 reached 11,664 people. Compared to April 2021, a reduction of 20,522 people or 63.8% was recorded.
Based on seasonally adjusted data reflecting the dynamics of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for April 2022 decreased to 12,853 compared to 13,087 in the previous month.
A decrease of 20,522 people or 63.8% compared to April 2021, mainly in the sectors of accommodation and catering (decrease by 4,965 people), trade (decrease by 3,987 people), construction (decrease by 1,402 people) , production (decrease by 1,273), transportation and storage (decrease by 963), as well as a decrease by 1,602 people registered in composition of newcomers to the labor market.
