The leading conference of the tourism investment industry, the International Hospitality Investment Forum (IHIF), which is now in its 24th year in Berlin, was attended by a delegation from the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Cyprus).
This year’s conference brought together more than 2,000 senior executives and institutional investors in the industry, as well as over 180 keynote speakers, who touched on important topics and reflected on trends in international investment in the hospitality industry in the post-pandemic era.
During the conference, the Invest Cyprus delegation had the opportunity to hold a number of meetings with institutional investors, heads of investment funds, as well as with international hotel chains. In addition, Invest Cyprus organized a round table with invited representatives of foreign investment organizations, informing them about current developments and investment prospects in the sector. Thanos Michaelides, CEO of Thanos Hotels, Marios Ioannou, CFO of Louis PLC, and Christoforos Anagiotos, Managing Director and Head of Transaction Advisory at KPMG in Cyprus, also took part in the discussion.
In addition, Invest Cyprus Investment Promotion Officer Ms. Stephanie Panagi had the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion with representatives of relevant Greek and Moroccan investment institutions, presenting the latest developments in the economy and tourism and highlighting the opportunities and benefits that Cyprus offers to foreign investors. “Despite the current challenges, the figures for 2022 are particularly encouraging and we are particularly pleased to see that foreign investor interest is not declining in both current projects and new developments,” said Ms Panagi.
In addition to representing abroad, Invest Cyprus acts as the first point of contact for foreign investors, offering comprehensive information services as well as the opportunity to arrange visits to our country for potential investors.
