The cost of construction continues to rise, which has soared to an unimaginable level in a month.

In fact, at a time when industry experts and those employed in the construction sector are sounding the alarm regarding unacceptable increases, as well as delays in deliveries or postponement of projects.

The increase in the price index for building materials in May this year reached 22% compared to May 2021.

The cost of metal products

growing In the main product category, growth was recorded in metal products (36.33%), wood, insulating, chemical and plastic products (21.23%), electromechanical products (14.08%), mineral products (10.24%) , as well as minerals (9.27%).

In particular, the largest increase of 40.54% was recorded in the cost of iron and steel products.

The growth in the cost of plastic products, products made of aluminum and other metals reached 30% over the year.

Close to 22% was the growth rate of ceramic products, wood products, and electrical equipment.

Chemical products approached the growth of the building materials price index in May 2022 by 15%, and other electromechanical goods by 14%.

mortars reached 12.29 %, for thermal insulation materials – 10.58%, and the cost of stones increased by 7.57%.

Major articles with leap growth

The smallest increase in May 2022 compared to May 2021 was recorded for heating and cooling expenses.

It is worth noting that the cost of some basic building materials has increased.

These include high-strength building iron (83%), asphalt mixes (59%), structural steel (53%), fuel/diesel fuel (45%), brick (30%), Portland cement/limestone cement (23%).
