The building materials price index for the period from January to December 2022 recorded an increase of 17.21% compared to the corresponding period in 2021.
The increase in the indicator in 2022 compared to the previous year is mainly due to the increase in prices for the following materials : PVC doors and windows, bricks, asphalt concrete bitumen, plastic pipes, structural mesh, building iron, iron rails, etc.
The building materials price index for December 2022 reached 133.62 units (2015 base year = 100), recording a decrease of 0.24% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 11.67%. In the main commodity categories, growth was recorded in minerals, which increased by 13.43%, mineral products by 12.18%, wood products, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics by 11.57%, metal products by 11.21 % and electromechanical products by 10.25%.
