What will come to replace the KEAN plant? A major reconstruction project in Limassol

bbf has confirmed plans to demolish the historic KEAN factory in Limassol to make way for the construction of large residential, commercial and office buildings. The factory, located on Limassol’s coastal avenue , had been in operation since 1 July 1956 and was the soft drinks company’s main production facility.

KEAN holds over 25% of the local citrus juice and soft drink market. In recent years, KEAN has expanded its activities in the HORECA sector by importing brands such as HEINZ/KRAFT, HP, L&P, AMOY, VITALIA, FARLEY’S CALVO (tuna and salads), GO TAN (noodles and sauces), PELLITO NUTS and other food products.

Following the acquisition of KEAN Group in April 2023, bbf has decided to demolish the plant as part of its redevelopment strategy, with the site’s master plan currently pending approval. According to plans, the new development will include high-rises reaching 20 storeys, transforming the area into a modern hub for residential and commercial activity.

However, the company’s first priority is to relocate KEAN’s production facilities to an alternative site in Limassol to avoid disruption to the company’s operations. After this, the safe and efficient demolition of the existing building will begin.

The process of demolition and relocation of production will be organized in the shortest possible time, and construction of the new complex is expected to begin in 2026. Due to its favorable location, the reconstruction will significantly increase the value of the territory and its investment attractiveness.

The KEAN plant occupies over 40 acres in the eastern part of Limassol, a strategically important area with high commercial potential.
