The Harmonized Consumer Price Index in July 2022 increased by 10.6% compared to July 2021, and compared to the previous month it increased by 1.7%, according to data published this week by the Statistical Office of Cyprus (Cystat).

Between January and July 2022, there was an increase of 7.7% compared to the corresponding period last year.

Compared to July 2021, the largest changes occurred in the categories of housing, water supply, electricity, as well as LPG and transport – 30.7% and 21.8%, respectively.

Compared to June 2022, the biggest changes were recorded in clothing and footwear: a decrease of 11.3%.

For the period January-July 2022, compared to the corresponding period of 2021, the largest changes were observed in housing, water supply, electricity and LPG by 20.3%, transport by 15.5%, as well as food and soft drinks . from 9 per cent.

Larnaca’s museums and archaeological sites have proven to be popular destinations, with over 43,000 visitors this year, according to a report released by the Department of Antiquities on Friday.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) ended Friday, August 19, with losses.

The overall Cypriot stock market index stood at 70.66 points at 13:18 during the day, reflecting a 0.24% drop from the previous trading day.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 42.37, down 0.26%.

The total transaction value was 35,363 euros.

As for the sub-indices, the alternative index rose by 0.13%, while the main index and investment company indices decreased by 0.45% and 2.93%, respectively. The hotel index remained stable.

Bank of Cyprus (-0.44%), Hellenic Bank (+0.23%), Cyprus Cement Company (+1.56%), Demetra Holdings (-3.11%) and Vassiliko Cement attracted the highest investment interest. Working (-0.75%).
