The Nicosia Municipality announces in an announcement that from March 4, 2022, applications will begin for a revised housing plan for the rehabilitation of the mountainous, critical and disadvantaged areas of the Ministry of the Interior, which includes certain areas falling under its green line boundaries. This year’s plan has added 7 new streets in Omorphita Parish.
As already mentioned, the Plan is about providing financial support for the acquisition of a private permanent home, such as building a home, buying a new or existing home, buying and improving a new or existing home, and improving a new or existing home purchased as a gift or otherwise.
It is noted that the maximum amount of assistance is 50% of the total cost of acquiring a house, while the minimum cost is 20,000 euros, and the maximum amount of assistance depends on the composition of the family, as well as the community/district in which one lives: One person up to 35,000 euros, Couple up to 45,000 euros, Young couple (up to 41 years old) up to 60,000 euros, Family with children or a family with one parent up to 50,000 euros, Young family with children, including young single parents (up to 41 years old) up to 65 000 euros, large families (4 or more children) up to 70,000 euros, people with disabilities up to 10,000 euros (additional amount) for construction, for special structures up to 25,000 euros (additional amount) for safety and adequate support of the house from -for the morphology or slope of the soil (depending on the area).
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2022.
