Limassol Municipality issued a clarifying statement regarding the modernization of the playground in the Public Garden.
As reported, the original playground renovation project included two separate parts – the main part and an additional part, smaller in size. The main part of the project has been completed, since the end of May 2023, a beautiful modern playground has been operating.
It is also emphasized that the builders informed the municipality that they covered the agreed budget by spending 1.75 million euros on the project. The amount includes all research, materials and works for the playground, without any burden on the treasury of the municipality. Their intention, according to the Limassol Municipality, is to donate the remaining toys and other materials already purchased for the smaller additional portion to the Municipality for use in any part of the city to be determined by the Municipality according to the needs of the children and families of Limassol .
As for the smaller additional space, only preliminary work has been carried out so far, and the Limassol Municipality is exploring various options for shaping the space, which will include landscaping, benches, etc.
Finally, the Limassol Municipality thanks the investors for their generosity towards the city and their love for children. “The greatest reward is the joy and enthusiasm with which the children and families of our city embraced the renovated, modern and beautiful playground of Limassol .”
