Bankers’ union Etyk announced this week that it had reached an agreement with the Cypriot Banking Association to extend their collective bargaining agreement. The negotiations took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect and understanding, while discussing all other collective agreements that have been signed recently.
The results of the negotiations were positive, as we reached an agreement with the administration of the Association of Banks of Cyprus on the extension of the collective agreement for the employees of the association for 2019-2022, which was signed on Tuesday. The content of the agreement is similar to the content of the relevant agreements signed by our organization with banks in our space, is very satisfying and balanced and satisfies both parties.”
According to a report published this week by the Statistical Office of Cyprus (Cystat), between January and August 2022, the total number of registered vehicles decreased by 4.9% compared to the corresponding period in 2021. However, only in August the number of registered vehicles increased by 8.1%.
In August 2022, the total number of registered vehicles reached 2484, up 8.1% from 2298 in August 2021.
According to the report, the number of passenger car registrations rose by 12.4% to 2018 from 1,796 in August 2021.
In terms of vehicle registrations in the period from January to August 2022, compared to the corresponding period in 2021, the total number of registered vehicles decreased by 4.9%, falling to 23,169 units compared to 24,372 units in the same period of 2021 .
Registrations of sedan cars decreased by 1.8% to 18,445 compared to 18,775 in the corresponding period of 2021.
Of the total sedan class passenger cars, 7,884 or 42.7% were new and 10,561 or 57.3% were used cars. Car rental increased by 78.4% to 3135 units.
The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) ended Thursday, September 8th with a profit.
The overall Cypriot stock market index stood at 73.54 points at 13:53 during the day, reflecting an increase of 0.49% from the previous trading day.
The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 44.11 points, up 0.50%.
The total transaction value was 69,741 euros.
As for the sub-indices, the main index rose by 0.79%, while the alternative index fell by 0.04%. Indices of hotel and investment companies remained stable.
Bank of Cyprus (+0.78%), Hellenic Bank (+1.79%) and Salamis Tours (-0.5%) generated the highest investment interest.
