The City Planning Authority has approved an application for a building permit for the development of the American University of Beirut.
It is noted that the agreement between the Municipality of Paphos and the American University of Beirut (AUB) on the establishment of the American University of Beirut – Mediterraneo in Cyprus was signed on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the Municipal Theater of Paphos Markideio. in the presence of the President of the Republic.
As mentioned in the announcement, this is a very important event, as it ensures the existence and operation of a university with a historical tradition in the region and thus significantly enriches and strengthens the university map of Cyprus.
According to the Mayor of Paphos, the arrival of the American University of Beirut in Paphos “places us on the map of the world of university education”.
He added that there are few universities in the world that have the tradition, history and influence that this particular university has, while noting that the American University of Beirut, despite the difficulties and competition it sometimes faces, remains among the top 220 universities peace.
