The start of construction work on the Paphos-Polis-Chrysochous motorway was welcomed by the President of the Republic, Nikos Anastasiadis, in a Twitter post.
The President described the motorway under construction as “one of the largest development projects with numerous benefits for the whole of Cyprus.”
“The Paphos-Polis Chrysochous motorway, which has always been one of our priorities, is now becoming a reality. Today’s start of construction works gives us optimism, as one of the largest development projects is being implemented with numerous benefits for the whole of Cyprus,” the President wrote on his Twitter.
The first phase of the project concerns a 15.5 km two-lane road with bridges and tunnels in the valley and is estimated at EUR 86,845,010 (including VAT). According to the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Yannis Karusos, it is planned to expand it to four traffic lanes.
