The Cyprus real estate sector continues its upward trajectory in recent years. The beginning of 2026 has seen a significant increase in sales compared to the same period last year. According to recent data from the Land Department, the total number of registered sales contracts increased by 11% in the first two months.
During the period from January to February 2026, 2,948 documents were submitted for the sale of residential real estate, while in the first two months of 2025 this figure was 2,646.
Limassol remains the country’s most active market. In the first two months of 2026, 927 contracts were registered there, a 13% increase compared to last year’s 818 transactions.
In Paphos, the number of residential property transactions increased by 19%, reaching 637 units compared to 535 in the same period in 2025.
Famagusta recorded a record 22% growth in real estate sales, with 132 sales documents submitted compared to 108 last year.
Larnaca demonstrated stable growth of 6%. Over the two months, 629 transactions were completed, exceeding last year’s figure (594 contracts).
In Nicosia, real estate sales activity increased by 5%. The total number of documents transferred was 623 units, compared to 591 in January-February 2025.
The steady growth in the number of submitted documents confirms the sector’s reliability and investor interest in high-quality residential real estate. The increasing demand for one-, two- , and three-bedroom properties in every district of the island underscores buyers’ confidence in the long-term value of their assets. If the current growth rate continues, 2026 has every chance of being one of the most successful years for the Cypriot residential real estate market in the past decade.
