Paphos has begun another phase of urban infrastructure improvement in the Municipal Market area. On Wednesday, a contract was signed at the municipal building with a contractor for the construction of a metal canopy that will fully cover the Laiki Geitonia area, including Agora, Nikolaidis, Miaouli Streets, and part of Kyriakos Mavros.
According to information provided by the municipality, the goal of this project is to increase the area’s appeal to businesses throughout the year, during both the summer and winter months. This should create more comfortable conditions for local entrepreneurs, attract more visitors, and improve the quality of life for residents.
The contract was signed by Paphos Mayor Phedonas Phedonos and the director of the contracting company, Anthimos Ioannou. The total cost of the project is €993,650, including VAT.
The contract specifies an eight-month completion period from the start of construction.
