Psaras Construction was awarded third place in the prestigious “Best Practices Award 2025” organized by the Cyprus Occupational Health and Safety Association. This award recognizes the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and improving workplace safety.
The awards ceremony took place in the POED main building and brought together representatives from the tech industry, business leaders, and expert organizations. Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Yannis Panayiotou presented the awards, recognizing the importance of companies fostering a culture of workplace safety.
Psaras Construction was recognized for its innovative introductory training video developed using artificial intelligence technology. The video is available in multiple languages, allowing for customized training and ensuring a consistent understanding of safety rules across the team.
This practice has already been implemented at the Palm Beach project site in Larnaca. Key health and safety instructions were translated and subtitled in five languages, ensuring full staff understanding of key requirements. Training was conducted individually for each employee, ensuring that everyone was covered.
Psaras Construction’s innovative approach is a response to one of the construction industry’s key challenges: multilingualism among workers. Difficulties in daily communication can impact safety, so the introduction of multilingual AI video is a crucial step toward creating a safer and more informed work environment.
The use of artificial intelligence technologies ensures that every employee understands not only general requirements but also specific processes related to the safe performance of work tasks. This strengthens the corporate culture of safety, prevention, and respect in the workplace.
The project was successfully implemented by Orestis Theofilaktou, Health and Safety Manager, and Rafaela Kkolu, Health and Safety Assistant. Their contributions were key to the development and implementation of this innovative practice.
This award confirms Psaras Construction’s commitment to continuous investment in human capital, innovation, and safe working conditions. This achievement reinforces the company’s position as a leader in the Cypriot construction sector and demonstrates the importance of implementing modern technologies to protect workers and improve the efficiency of production processes.
