Property sales: Surprise in Nicosia, stability in Limassol and momentum in Paphos

Property sales in October 2023 reached 1,306 from 1,171 in October 2022, an increase of 12%. Between January and October 2023, the number of sales documents filed throughout Cyprus was 12,825 instead of 10,781, an increase of 19%.

With a slight decline of just 1%, Limassol remains top of the Cyprus property market with 383 sales in October this year compared to 388 in October last year. In the first ten months of the year, sales rose 14% to 4,225 from 3,703 in the corresponding period last year.

Nicosia moved up to second place with 292 property sales in October 2023, up 32% from October 2022 when 221 property sales were recorded. In the first ten months of the year, there were 2,451 sales in the capital, an increase of 8% compared to 2,264 sales in the corresponding period in 2022.

There were 275 sales documents filed in Paphos in October this year, compared to 269 in October last year, an increase of 2%. In Paphos, the number of sales documents in 10 months reached 2,878 from 2,297 in the same period in 2022, an increase of 25%.

In Larnaca, property sales reached 264 in October 2023, up from 242 in October 2022, recording a growth of 9%. During the period January-October 2023, trade documents increased by 32% to 2,612 compared to 1,976 in the corresponding period last year.

Property sales in vacant Famagusta jumped 80% in October this year to 92, up from 51 last October, and in the first ten months of 2023, sales documents rose 22% to 659 from 541 in the same period last year.
