The building materials price index for April 2022 reached 132.69 units (2015 base year = 100), recording an annual increase of 24.54%, according to data released by the Statistical Office. This is the highest level of the index since 1986, when the data was available.
Compared to the previous month, the index recorded an increase of 5.60%.
Across the main product categories, annual growth was recorded in metal products by 42.35%, including iron and steel products – by 50.67% compared to April 2021, in wood products, insulating materials, chemicals and plastics – by 24.77%, in electromechanical products – by 16.39%. %, mineral products by 9.96% and minerals by 8.72%.
