At the end of May, planning permission was issued for the ” Aura ” project, which will be the tallest building in Cyprus with a height of 181.5 meters.
A 44-story high-rise will be built on the site of the former ERA Olympia shopping center. Investors are finalizing agreements to implement compensation measures set by the municipality, which include the provision of more than 300 public parking spaces and the allocation of ground floor space for a municipal art gallery (the commercial use of which is still being discussed).
In addition, in connection with the decision of the Council of Ministers to merge underground spaces with a public road, a compensation payment of 214,000 euros will be made. Once approvals are completed, the project will be presented to the City Planning Committee and then to the City Council for approval.
The project, developed by Foster + Partners with the support of international and Cypriot consultants, aims to create a modern, environmentally friendly high-rise that seamlessly integrates into the urban environment of Limassol.
The base of the building will house landscaped gardens, a public plaza and a city park.
The 24 meter high residential section will appear to “float” above these elements, and the building’s design ensures unobstructed sea views from all apartments from the seventh floor onwards.
