Outstanding deposits in June reached 51.3 billion euros

The Central Bank of Cyprus on Wednesday released a report showing outstanding deposits in June reached 51.3 billion euros.

Moreover, the central bank’s report also showed that the total volume of loans amounted to 28.7 billion euros.

Meanwhile, total deposits in June 2022 recorded a net increase of €352.5 million compared to a net decrease of €166.9 million in May 2022.

In addition, the annual growth rate was 1.7% compared to 1.9% in May 2022.

Total loans in June 2022 recorded a net increase of €109.9 million compared to a net increase of €121 million in May 2022.

Finally, the annual growth rate was 2.9% compared to 3.3% in May 2022.

According to the report of the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat), published on Wednesday, in June there was an overall decrease in sales of petroleum products by 6.8% to 55,061 tons.

In addition, total sales of gasoline in June decreased by 5.9%, while diesel fuel – by 10.4%.

Significant declines were also seen in asphalt sales, which fell 49.8% in June, as well as fuel oil sales, which fell 10.8%.

However, according to the data, the total sales of petroleum products in June increased by 14.5% compared to June 2021, amounting to 126,041 tons.

This was mainly due to the supply of aviation and marine oils, which increased by 143.1% and 20.4%, respectively.

Sales of kerosene, light fuel oil and heating oil also rose during this time, increasing by 175.6%, 28.2% and 22% respectively.

The total volume of sales of petroleum products in June 2022 increased by 4.2 percent compared to May 2022.

It is significant that the supply of oil for aircraft increased by 13.8%, sales of diesel fuel by 1.8% and gasoline by 1.6%.

Total oil reserves at the end of June 2022 increased by 1.3% compared to the end of the previous month.

In addition, in the period from January to June 2022, the total volume of sales of petroleum products increased by 22.4% compared to the same period last year, mainly due to the sale of jet fuel, which increased by 236.3% during this period.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) ended Wednesday, July 27, with losses.

The overall Cypriot stock market index stood at 66.98 points at 13:08 during the day, reflecting a 0.71% drop from the previous trading day.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 40.08 points, down 0.74%.

The total transaction value was €3,487.

As for the sub-indices, the main index and the index of investment companies decreased by 1.31% and 0.5%, respectively. The alternative index rose by 0.17%, while the hotel index remained stable.
