The construction exit price index in the fourth quarter of 2021 recorded an annual increase of 9.3%.
According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the construction selling price index for the fourth quarter of 2021 reached 121.29 units (base year 2015 = 100.00), recording an increase of 3.9% compared to the third quarter of 2021. In addition to the quarter of the previous year, the indicator increased by 9.3%.
By project type, Q4 2021 saw an increase of 9.4% for buildings and 8.9% for civil engineering compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020. For the period from January to December 2021, the total recorded an increase of 5.2% compared to the corresponding period in 2020. An increase in the index of buildings by 6.4% and an index of civil engineering objects by 1.2% was recorded.Meanwhile, an annual decline was recorded in the construction production index in the fourth quarter of last year.
According to the Statistical Service of the Republic of Cyprus, the Construction Production Index in the fourth quarter of 2021 reached 209.58 units (base year 2015 = 100.00), recording a decrease of 5.5% compared to the fourth quarter of 2020.
By project type, the fourth quarter of 2021 saw a drop of 5.1% for buildings and 7.9% for civil engineering compared to the corresponding quarter of 2020. For the period from January to December 2021, the total recorded an increase of 3.4% compared to the corresponding period in 2020. An increase in the index of buildings by 2.5% and an index of civil engineering objects by 9.7% was recorded.
