The Federation of Cyprus Construction Contractors Associations (OSECO) hosts for the second time in Cyprus the 113th Conference of the Pan-European Federation of Builders “European Federation of Construction (FIEC)”, which will be held from 11 to 13 May, 2022.
FIEC, through its 33 national federations in 28 European countries (EU 25 and Norway, Switzerland, Ukraine) represents construction companies of all sizes (from individual craftsmen and small and medium-sized enterprises to large international companies) of all construction specialties and civil engineers).
Due to its wide representativeness, FIEC is officially recognized as a social partner representing employers in the European Sectoral Social Dialogue “Building”. O.S.E.O.K. has been a member of FIEC since 1996. In the eight years that have elapsed from the accession of OSEOK to the FIEC to the accession of Cyprus to the European Union, Cypriot contractors who have been organized in the OSEOK Member Associations at this time have an advantageous opportunity to receive information about their future obligations and rights, as well as about the prospects for their business and prepare accordingly.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Evi Gavrielidis Hall at THOK in Nicosia on May 12th in the presence of selected guests, and the conference will continue at the Amathus Hotel in Limassol on May 13th.
The main conference will be dedicated to the theme “Sustainable Building to Combat Climate Change”. The theme was chosen as a continuation of the conclusions reached by the FIEC General Assembly in Paris in November 2019 in connection with the Construction Horizon Europe 2050 program. , changes and consequences that may occur in the construction industry until 2030.
A significant number of representatives of the aforementioned federations and other eminent personalities of the sector, Members of the European Parliament, Directorates General of the European Commission and various other European committees and working groups are expected to visit during the aforementioned conference.
