Over six years of work, projects have been implemented that have helped improve the quality of life of citizens, reports the Tender Committee of the Limassol Municipality .
At a press conference at noon, the chairman of the committee, municipal councilor Andreas Neofitou, assessed the years 2017-2023.
Mr. Neophytou, among other things, mentioned the committee and its mode of operation, which he described as impeccable “with equal and fair treatment of tenderers through open democratic procedures.”
Mr. Neophytou said that in the period 2017-2023, the committee approved a total of 644 proposals, 490 with open procedures, 154 with simplified procedures.
“The total value of the proposals for the period 2017-2023 was 53 million euros. In 2017, offers amounted to about 4,000,000 million euros, in 2018 – 12,000,000 million euros, in 2019 – about 5,500,000 million euros, in 2020 – about 3,500,000 million euros, in 2021 – about 10 million euros, in 2022 – about 13 million euros. From 2023 to date, proposals worth approximately €5 million have been received.”
Some of the most important tenders that were won were related to the road surface, the facade reconstruction project, the reconstruction of Misiauli and Kavazoglou streets , the formation of Syntagma Square, the expansion of Garillis Linear Park , etc.
Important projects were announced and awarded, such as the creation of ecological roads in the areas of Agios Spyridon – Zakaki in Limassol , the reconstruction and development of the historical center of Agia Fyla, the improvement of fields, the design of the square for the Phytideo “GSO” sports center , the implementation of the project “Carnival Museum in Limassol ” and etc.
According to Mr. Neophytou, important projects such as the redevelopment of the area besides the AETOU Stadium, the establishment of sports cells in three public squares, etc. are also in the announcement/bid process.
