The Land Registry’s online platform is still down after a cyberattack some ten days ago, and officials say it could be weeks before technicians can reconnect critical services.
Head of the Land Registry of Elikkos Island Elia said they hope to see the online platform operational in the first decade of April.
“At best, we expect the platform to be back up and running by the end of the first business week in April. But even this period may not be enough, as it will take weeks to repair the damage to the platform,” Elia said .
web portal was shut down on 9 March and was forced to close its offices the next day after an unprecedented hack attack on the web page and systems.
Within a week of the attack, technicians were able to bring internal systems online, allowing transactions such as property transfers, mortgages, and filings to be physically conducted at district offices.

The online platform offers potential buyers and developers access to map viewing and navigation services, electronic applications for property delineation, and the issuance of copies of title deeds and surveys.
When asked if any property or transaction data was lost, Elia replied that nothing was lost.
“We can’t be 100% sure that no irreparable damage has been done, but the fact that we haven’t found anything missing and are able to carry out daily tasks is reassuring,” he said.
Elia added that registry staff are making extra efforts to service the large number of transactions that were delayed after the hack.
