A delegation from the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) this week met with the Greek Cypriot Business Association and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Cyprus (Selk) in Athens, where they jointly agreed on a number of new initiatives to enhance economic and business cooperation between the two countries.

During the meetings, the economic, trade and business relations of the two countries were reviewed, while both sides expressed their readiness to take new initiatives in order to expand and expand cooperation in all sectors of the economy.

In this context, according to Keve’s statement, it was decided to organize a conference in Cyprus where the Ministers of Development, Investment and Finance of Greece will inform the Cypriot business world about the current situation in the Greek economy with the aim of assisting Cypriot businesses wishing to operate in Greece.

It is also reported that the two Greek ministers assured the Cypriot mission of supporting the efforts of the chambers of both countries and, more broadly, the business circles of each country to expand their cooperation.

According to a report from the Statistical Service of Cyprus, in August 2022, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the total sales of petroleum products in Cyprus increased by 11 percent, reaching a total of 122,078 tons.

According to the report, supplies of petroleum products to aircraft (31.6%) and ships (30.5%), as well as sales of asphalt (34.8%), fuel oil (27.0%), and heating oil increased. (12.8%) and the CIS (10.1%).

However, there was a decline in sales of fuel oil (-78.4%), diesel fuel (-4.7%) and gasoline (-2.9%).

In addition, sales from gas stations showed a decrease of 4.4%, falling to 52,018 tons.

The total volume of sales of petroleum products in August 2022 increased by 4.2 percent compared to July 2022.

Gasoline sales were up 3.5%, while diesel fuel sales were down 7.8%.

Oil deliveries to aircraft increased slightly by 0.8%.

Total oil reserves at the end of August 2022 increased by 3.2% compared to the end of the previous month.

Finally, between January and August 2022, total petroleum products sales increased by 17.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) ended Wednesday, September 28, with losses.

The overall Cypriot stock market index stood at 73.22 points at 12:42 pm during the day, reflecting a 0.97% drop from the previous trading day.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 43.93, down 0.99%.

The total transaction value was 43,299 euros.

As for the sub-indices, the indices of the main, hotel and investment companies decreased by 1.69%, 0.49% and 0.92%, respectively. The alternative index rose by 0.7%.

Bank of Cyprus (-2.76%), Logicom (no change), Hellenic Bank (-1.89%), K+G Complex Company (-4.17%) and Atlantic Insurance (no change) attracted the highest investment interest .
