Irene Mylona-Chrysostomos recent appointment as the new Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property

19.07.2022

The Cyprus Investment Funds Association (CIFA) released a public statement on Monday congratulating Irene Mylona-Chrysostomos on her recent appointment as the new Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property.

“Mrs. Milona-Chrysostomou is a skilled technocrat with many years of experience in the Registrar of Companies and Intellectual Property Department, and we are confident that she will continue to modernize and simplify the work of the department,” the association said in a statement.

“We look forward to a cordial and close cooperation and wish Ms. Milone-Chrysostom every success in her new duties,” the statement said.

There is not much time left for employees, retirees and the self-employed to file their 2021 tax returns as the deadline ends on July 31, 2022.

One way to file tax returns is through TaxApp.cy, an online tax solution that makes filing easier by allowing the user to follow simple instructions in the form of short questions.

The application is also checked by professional tax advisors before it is submitted on behalf of the user to TAXISnet to ensure it is correct.

According to the statement, the TaxApp team, having received the approval of the Cyprus Association of Chartered Accountants (Selk), is in constant contact with the tax department.

At the same time, the platform is compliant with the relevant provisions of the GDPR, which guarantees the security of user data.

“In the event that the user decides to prepare and submit the declaration themselves through the platform, the final cost will be €19.50 plus VAT,” said TaxApp co-founder and CEO Marios Papageorgiou.

“The process is very simple: users need a tax identification number, TAXISnet registration and TaxApp registration,” he added.

“However, in the event that the user chooses to have TaxApp take over the entire process without any involvement, the cost will be €79.50 + VAT,” he concluded.

The Cyprus Stock Exchange ended Monday, July 18, with losses.

The overall Cypriot stock market index stood at 65.46 points at 13:40 during the day, reflecting a 1.33% drop from the previous trading day.

The FTSE/CySE 20 Index stood at 39.13 points, down 1.39%.

The total value of the transactions was 25,750 euros.

As for the sub-indices, the main index and the index of investment companies decreased by 2.37% and 2.45%, respectively.

The alternative index rose by 0.22%, while the hotel index remained stable.

Cyprus Cement Company (+1.64%), Bank of Cyprus (-1.64%), Demetra Holdings (-2.63%), Luis Group (no change) and Elit Cyprus (-4.58%) %).
