The industrial production index recorded a slight annual decline in July, the first decline since February 2021, mainly due to the electricity, mining and water sectors.
According to data published by the Statistical Office of Cyprus (Cystat), the index reached 153.9 units in July (2015 base = 100), recording a decrease of 0.5% compared to July 2021.
For the period from January to July 2022, the index recorded an increase of 3.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The manufacturing sector grew by 1.8% compared to July 2021, while electricity supply decreased by 6.8% year on year, mining by 6.6%, and water supply and material recycling by 0.1%, added Cystat.
