The Research and Innovation Foundation (Idek) on Friday announced the launch of a new call for proposals for a program called “Proof of Concept for Applications of Technology and Know-How”.
The total budget of the program is 700,000 euros, and the maximum funding per project is 40,000 euros.
The foundation explained that the program is designed to facilitate the preliminary study of possible industrial applications of certain technologies and other related expert know-how.
“As part of this program, beneficiary organizations are expected to have the opportunity to test the potential for industrial application of technology/know-how before participating in a larger technology development and innovation research project,” the foundation said.
In addition, according to the announcement, a budget of 200,000 euros will be allocated to projects related to priority sectors.
These include transport, shipping, smart specialization strategies for the environment, and ICT or sustainable growth . and also
With regard to shipping, the foundation explained that the applicable decisions concern the study of the industrial application of technology in a number of areas.
These include remote inspections and inspections of the hull, machinery or equipment on board, as well as remote auditing and verification of safety systems or security controls.
They also include the digitalization of services used in maritime management, monitoring and response to cyber threats and attacks, and energy savings through the use of alternative fuels.
In addition, decisions may also concern the prevention and timely response to pollution incidents and marine accidents in the coastal ecosystem of Cyprus.
On Friday, Hermes Airports announced that its board of directors has elected Christophe Petit as its new chairman.

TUS Airways, the largest airline in Cyprus, announced on Friday that it has increased the frequency of flights in August from two to three flights a week on the Larnaca-Paris route due to high passenger traffic.
