The Municipality of Paralimni-Dherinia has announced plans for a major urban redevelopment. Two major projects are on the agenda: the creation of a new central square and the improvement of the city centre of Paralimni . Both projects are aimed at developing public space, improving the quality of urban infrastructure and improving conditions for residents and visitors to the area.
New central square
The first project involves the construction of a new central square in Paralimni . The project includes :
- Space for holding mass events.
- A park with trees and ornamental plants.
- Territory of monuments.
- Organization of a modern urban environment with landscape design.
The total cost of the project is estimated at approximately 5 million euros . The municipality has already submitted an official application for co-financing with a request to recognize the initiative as an urban development project, which will allow it to receive state financial support.
Modernization of the center of Paralimni
Amended application for improvement work in the central part of the city has been submitted . According to the new decisions of the city council, the previously planned pedestrian zone in the center will be cancelled, and instead the following will begin:
- repair and improvement of paved areas with tree planting ;
- creation of areas ;
- development of “green zones”;
- parking organization.
The approximate cost of these works is 8 million euros .

Both projects are an important part of the long-term development strategy of Paralimni-Dherinia , transforming the area into a more modern, comfortable and attractive place for living, business and tourism.
