House maintenance and renovation prices in Cyprus are on the rise, in addition to skyrocketing housing costs. And this is mainly due to rising prices for building materials, as well as the fact that the cost of the services of repair specialists, such as plumbers and electricians, is becoming more and more expensive.
The latest figures from the Statistical Office of Cyprus show that prices for home improvement work have risen substantially throughout the year, with the reference month being June.
In particular, plumbing services grew 20.8% year-on-year in June compared to a 4% increase in 2022, and no change was recorded in 2021 compared to 2020.
The Electrician Price Index rose 14.2% year-on-year in June, compared to a 21.3% rise in 2022 and no change in 2021.
The Painter Price Index recorded a year-on-year increase of 13.8% in June, compared to an 11.6% increase in 2022 and no change in 2021.
