According to a report released on Wednesday by the Statistical Office of Cyprus (Cystat), the harmonized consumer price index rose by 8.1% year on year in the first nine months of 2022.
According to the report, the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (CPI) in September 2022 increased by 9 percent compared to September 2021 and decreased by 1 percent compared to the previous month of 2022.
Between January and September 2022, there was an increase of 8.1 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
As of September 2021, the sharpest growth was seen in the housing, water, electricity and LPG categories, as well as in transportation, at 28.7% and 13.3%, respectively. Moreover, compared to August 2022, the biggest changes were recorded in the clothing and footwear category, which grew by 8.3%.
Finally, for the period from January to September 2022, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest changes were observed in the categories of housing, water supply, electricity and LPG, as well as transport – 22.4% and 15.7%. percent, respectively.
According to a report released this week by the Cypriot Statistical Office (Cystat), the building materials price index for September 2022 reached 134.55 units (based on 2015 = 100), which means a slight increase of 0.16 percent compared to the previous month. ) .
According to the report, compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the index registered an increase of 16.24%.
For each main commodity category, growth was recorded in metal products by 18.73%, minerals by 16.95%, and mineral products by 15.51%.
Finally, prices for wood, insulation, chemical and plastic products rose by 14.62%, while electromechanical products rose by 12.23%.
