In February 2024, the total number of real estate purchase and sale contracts posted in land registry offices throughout Cyprus reached 1,284. It recorded a 14% increase from the 1,131 contracts deposited in February 2023, according to official sales statistics released by the Department of Lands and Surveys.
Although property sales in Famagusta and Limassol fell by 7% and 5% respectively, the decline was offset by increases of 47% in Nicosia, 22% in Larnaca and 17% in Paphos. Real estate sales in each of the five boroughs in February were as follows:
Nicosia – 280 pcs.
Famagusta – 69 pcs.
Larnaca – 247 pcs.
Limassol – 378 pcs.
Paphos – 242 pcs.
Sales for the first two months of 2024 reached 2,340 units; showing an increase of 9% compared to the first two months of 2023 – and this is the highest figure ever since 2008, when 2,940 properties were sold in January and February.
