Cyprus approves project to renew historic Voroklini district

Cyprus approves project to renew historic Voroklini district

The project “Restoration and Renewal of the Old Voroklini Area – Final Phase” has received approval from the European Funds Directorate of the Ministry of Interior of Cyprus.

The total cost of the work is 3.5 million euros. The funds will be provided with the support of the European Union’s European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development.

The main objective of the program is to complete the reconstruction and improvement of the old part of Voroklini. The final stage will include the implementation of the three remaining sections of work, which will allow for a comprehensive renewal of the area, the preservation of its cultural heritage and the development of local infrastructure.

The project is designed to improve the quality of the urban environment, create more comfortable conditions for residents and strengthen the tourist potential of the area. Preservation of historical buildings and improvement of public spaces will make the Voroklini area more attractive for both local residents and guests of Cyprus.

The European Union’s support for the implementation of the programme paves the way for the completion of the long-term renovation of the old district. In the long term, this will allow Voroklini to be integrated into the most well-kept and historically significant areas of the Larnaca region.
