Building material prices rose slightly on a monthly basis in July, but recorded a significant increase compared to the same month of the previous year, according to data released on Friday by the Statistical Office of Cyprus.
A slight increase in the building materials price index for July 2022 was recorded at 0.09% compared to the previous month, while on an annualized basis, the increase was about 17.52%.
In particular, according to a CyStat press release, the price index reached 134.51 units (2015 base year = 100).
Compared to the corresponding month of the previous year, the index reflecting the change in the cost of materials incurred by the contractor increased by 17.52%.
According to the Statistical Service , In the main product categories, growth was recorded in metal products (21.50%), minerals (16.35%), wood products, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (16.17%), mineral products (15.76% ) and electromechanical products (11.90%).
