The Building Materials Price Index rose by 21.81% in May 2022 compared to the corresponding month of 2021 and continued the upward trend that has been following since January 2021.
According to a press release from the Statistical Office of Cyprus, the building materials price index for May 2022 reached 133.06 units (base year 2015 = 100), recording an increase of 0.28% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 21.81%.
For the main product categories, an increase was recorded in metal products (36.33%), wood products, insulating materials, chemicals and plastics (21.23%), electromechanical products (14.08%), mineral products (10. 24%) and minerals (9.27%).
