According to a report published on Monday by the Cyprus Statistical Service ( Cystat ), the number of building permits increased by 8.3% between January and April 2024 compared to the corresponding period the previous year.
During this period, 2,545 building permits were issued, compared to 2,351 in the same period the previous year. The total value of these permits increased by 8.9%, and their total area increased by 15.7%. Moreover, there was a significant increase in the number of planned residential properties – by 24.2%.
Data for April alone shows that municipal and district authorities issued a total of 669 building permits. The total value of these permits reached an impressive amount of 261.3 million euros, and their total area was 192,300 square meters. meters. These development permits provide for the construction of 930 residential properties.
Of the 930 properties, 558 apartment buildings, 226 private houses, 97 duplexes and 49 mixed-use apartment buildings are planned.
