The number of building permits in the first two months of 2023 was down 12.7% from the same period last year, according to data released by the Statistical Office on Friday.
Between January and February 2023, 1,143 building permits were issued, compared to 1,309 in the corresponding period of the previous year. At the same time, the total cost of these permits increased by 2.1%, and the total area by 0.9%. The number of residential units increased by 0.3%.
In February 2023, the number of building permits issued by municipal authorities and district administrations during the period amounted to 553. The total value of these permits reached 160.8 million euros, and the total area reached 147.6 thousand square meters. These building permits provide for the construction of 608 housing units.
