The building materials price index was formed in June at 19.42% year on year, reflecting rising contractor costs as well as an upward trend in prices in the construction sector.
Compared with May 2022, it reached 134.30 units in June (based on 2015 = 100), an increase of 0.93% from the previous month, according to the Statistical Service. The index has recorded a continuous uptrend since December 2020, although the year-on-year percentage change slightly decreased in June from 21.81% in the previous month.
For the main category of goods, an increase was recorded in metal products (26.95%), wood, insulating, chemical and plastic products (18.50%), minerals (15.11%), mineral products (13.98%) and electromechanical products (11.95%).
