Abandoned Sodap winery acquired for €32 million

12.06.2023

This week, a report was published according to which Cypriot investor Alexei Gubarev recently purchased the plot of land on which the Sodap winery was located for more than 32 million euros.

The property of 38,827 square meters is located between the port and marina of Limassol, next to the sea, with a total facade area of 220 meters.

The announcement explains that Aleksey Gubarev envisages a large-scale development with multi-storey buildings and other objects with high technical characteristics. In addition, the building will become a public space, which will host various facilities for learning, creativity and cultural pastime. Luxurious apartments with sea views and commercial areas such as shops and offices are also planned.

“The new space will be called the IT quarter,” the message says, noting that “the territory can be called a city within a city where people can live, create, work, engage in self-development and development of children, have a great time regardless of the time of year” .

The architectural project includes a kindergarten, a school, museums and galleries, sports facilities, squares, parks and much more. In addition, it is planned to create a giant pedestrian-only public square with direct access to the sea.

Sodap Real Estate is an iconic flagship complex that has housed a number of industrial installations since its inception in 1947. “Originally the headquarters of a viticulture marketing organization, this historic site is of great importance as one of the most important monuments of the industrial heritage of the region, as noted by the authoritative website of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce,” the conclusion says.
