The cost of construction materials in April continued to decline for the third quarter in a row. According to data released by the Statistical Office of Cyprus ( Cystat ), the building materials price index for April 2023 reached 135.59 units (base year 2015 = 100), recording a decrease of 0.23% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index recorded an increase of 2.18%.
In the main commodity categories, growth was recorded in minerals (23.09%), mineral products (12.05%), electromechanical goods (3.12%) and wood, insulation, chemical and plastic products (2.73%).
On the contrary, in metal products there was a decrease of 9.82%.
